Our Services
Check out our new offerings below!
Our Social Mind is our meaning maker; it enables us to effectively focus our attention, interpret information, problem solve, and respond in ways that align with our personal goals.
This cognitive process also plays a pivotal role in our academic performance and our personal lives. While at school, work, or home, we constantly engage in this process, whether our objective is to complete a writing assignment, manage our time, summarize a passage, cope with anxiety, or draft a work email. Consequently, our clinicians offer services that help clients develop their social AND academic competencies.
Social Cognition
Since opening in 2012, our highly trained clinicians have provided social cognitive services to hundreds of clients. Our sessions are dynamic and client-driven, focusing on breaking down complex social processes and introducing strategies that help clients achieve their social goals. While some clients work individually with our clinicians, most of our work is conducted within small, carefully matched groups. Executive Functioning
Difficulty with executive functioning can manifest in various ways, such as a messy backpack, procrastination on assignments, chronic tardiness, or forgetting to turn in homework. We offer both group and individual coaching to help clients develop practical strategies and cognitive skills that they can use throughout their lives.
Typical Areas of Focus:
Time Management
Organization of “stuff & space”
Planning & Prioritizing
Motivation & Grit
Task Initiation
Transitioning
Reading Comprehension
Reading comprehension is yet another complex, invisible, cognitive process. Clients who have trouble comprehending text may struggle with interpreting the intentions of characters, making inferences, or grasping the overall meaning of what they read. Our goal is to help clients become more aware of the various processes involved in comprehension and to learn how to use strategies independently.

Written Expression & Narrative
Challenges with written expression often stem from issues related to thinking rather than writing skills themselves. Effective writing involves understanding the reader's perspective, organizing our ideas clearly, and distinguishing between relevant and irrelevant details. Likewise, verbal expression requires careful planning and ongoing interpretation of the messages received during communication with others. Our team teaches through Self Regulated Strategy Development (SRSD) to help clients build their capacities related to written expression.

Mental Health
Many of our clients experience anxiety and depression, which can either contribute to social learning challenges or arise as a result of them. We support our clients by using evidence-based tools and techniques to help them recognize their strengths, develop a deeper awareness of their thoughts and feelings, and identify strategies to manage their anxiety and depression effectively.
