  • The social world is steeped in hidden rules, unspoken expectations, and social hierarchies that can feel daunting. This makes it hard to know how to maneuver through the social world. These sessions are designed to bring like-minded peers together and teach proactive strategies to manage anxiety and life's daily stressors.

  • Executive functioning is at the heart of our daily functioning across all places in which we learn, play, and work. It affects almost everything we do and can deeply impact one's success in the social, academic, and job world. Participants will learn specific strategies to help strengthen their organized thinking and help improve organizational skills for daily life.

  • Tweens and teens face real and pressing social challenges such as managing social anxiety, making friends, dealing with bullies, understanding body language, filtering thoughts, fitting in, and much more. This session brings similar-age students together and provides support and strategies for those in or entering middle school.

  • Teens will take a deep dive around Michelle Garcia-Winner and Pamela Crooke’s guidebook; Socially Curious, Curiously Social. This session is designed to help teens and young adults sail the stormy seas of dating, texting, and everyday relationships with targeted strategies. Books are provided for all participants.

  • Calling all motivated learners that are seeking more independence. Middle and early high schoolers will work on learning new skills anchored in the levels of independence. Sessions will introduce each level of independence and students will begin to practice navigating these levels.

  • Reading comprehension is much more than decoding words! A substantial component of reading comprehension is social interpretation, and this process is reliant on a student’s social competencies. This summer, come explore the relationship between Social Thinking and reading. We will explore, discuss, and dissect different focus areas. Some examples are: character’s perspectives, intention reading, social inferencing, visualizing, making connections, flexible thinking, and many more concepts!
